Salary: From £50,000

About the Role

Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a growing commercial design and fit‑out contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of refurbishment and fit‑out projects across the UK.

This is a permanent, full‑time opportunity based from the company’s Manchester head office, with regular nationwide travel required to oversee multiple live projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high‑quality projects from inception through to completion, ensuring exceptional standards, strong commercial control, and client satisfaction throughout.

This role would suit a confident construction professional with proven fit‑out or refurbishment experience who is comfortable managing subcontractors, overseeing programmes, and making key decisions independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage refurbishment and fit‑out projects from inception to completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams across multiple live projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as the key project contact
  • Oversee project programming, sequencing, and critical path management
  • Conduct site visits, compliance audits, snagging inspections, and follow‑up actions
  • Support the implementation and use of centralised project management software
  • Assist with project reporting and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and safe systems of work
  • Manage FFE implementation alongside M&E and construction activities

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing refurbishment or fit‑out projects
  • Strong construction knowledge with the ability to manage projects independently
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing supply chains
  • Excellent client‑facing and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Comfortable travelling nationally to support multiple concurrent projects
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages

Desirable Experience

  • RICS, CIOB, or construction‑related qualification/graduate status
  • PRINCE2, PMI‑CP, or similar project management certification
  • Experience using ProCore or similar project management software
  • SMSTS certification
  • Previous team management experience
