Igne is seeking a Project Engineering Geologist to join the Ground Investigation (GI) Division in Hamilton. This is a full‑time, permanent position that will require travel. This role offers a mix of site and office based work and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a diverse portfolio of ground investigation and geotechnical projects across Scotland.

We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, professional and ready to work across teams to deliver high–quality services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and preparation of GI’s
  • Manage and act as part of a team on small to large scale GI’s ensuring compliance with specification and contractual documents
  • Soil and rock core logging in compliance with BS5930 / Eurocode 7
  • Manage project data including AGS, laboratory schedules, logs etc. to client requirements
  • Write factual reports and assist in interpretive report writing
  • Prepare risk assessments and method statements

Person Specification

  • A degree in Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline is essential.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques, soil mechanics and geology
  • Experience running small and medium ground investigation projects from contract award to completion
  • Extensive experience producing factual reports to a high standard within allotted timescales
  • Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely client communication and deadlines are met
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
