Overview

As the Haematology IT Lead, you will work closely with section managers and the Department Network Manager to provide a pan pathology approach to development and improvement across the CWPS network, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, George Eliot Hospital, and South Warwick Hospital. The role requires working across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee systems used by the Haematology team, including middleware, LIMS and clinical systems.
  • Work closely with the Haematology Management team, Pathology IT team and system providers to ensure robust operation of these systems.
  • Identify and implement potential enhancements and upgrades, including the initial phases of a LIMS upgrade and middleware/analysers upgrade.
  • Collaborate with the management team and support service delivery, deputising for the Network Manager when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Biomedical Scientists with proven organisational and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work effectively within a management team, be innovative, self‑motivated and resilient.
  • Informed consent to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a current UK occupational health provider or GP.

Career Development

  • Eligibility for a Band 6 Trainee Section Manager post; an MSc equivalent qualification is not mandatory.
  • Completion of the IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma over 12 months in role can progress to a Band 7 Section Manager.

Requirements

Applicants must be able to work across multiple sites and demonstrate strong management capabilities. Basic training and guidance will be provided.
