Project Engineer – Fire Alarm Systems

Location: South East London

Salary: Up to £55,000 (including £4,500 car allowance)

Working hours: Monday-Friday | 36 hours per week

We are recruiting on behalf of a major infrastructure organisation for two Project Engineers (Fire Alarm Systems) to oversee fire alarm compliance and project delivery across operational commercial sites in South London.

This is a project-focused position responsible for managing fire alarm assessments, contractor performance, and full lifecycle project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fire alarm system assessments in line with BS 5839-1
  • Carry out site inspections and review contractor workmanship
  • Produce technical reports and photographic evidence
  • Develop scopes of work and technical specifications
  • Oversee Health & Safety compliance across your projects
  • Review tenders and support financial and programme management
  • Provide technical guidance to stakeholders
  • Ensure asset data and project records are accurately captured

This is a mobile role requiring regular travel between sites.

About You

  • Experience in a technical or commercial engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and standards
  • Comfortable managing contractors and working independently
  • Organised, proactive and confident dealing with stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required
