Structural Engineer – Cardiff


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join a well-established and progressive engineering consultancy based in Cardiff. The practice is known for delivering thoughtful, technically excellent, and practical design solutions across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments.


This is a great role for a motivated engineer looking to broaden their experience, take ownership of design work, and contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment.


The Role



  • Lead structural design work on a variety of projects from early concept to construction

  • Produce high quality technical outputs in line with relevant UK codes and standards

  • Prepare, check, and review design calculations, drawings, and reports

  • Liaise effectively with clients, architects, and the wider design team throughout the design process

  • Attend site visits and provide technical support during construction stages

  • Support and collaborate with junior engineers and assist with mentoring where appropriate

  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in design processes and quality


About You



  • Holds a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Has strong experience within a UK consultancy environment

  • Is working towards Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE)

  • Has a solid understanding of UK design standards and Eurocodes

  • Is confident using structural analysis and design software

  • Has experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit

  • Enjoys working collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams

  • Communicates effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
