Location: These roles are hybrid. Three posts are available, and each will be expected to spend time within their allocated ‘region’. We particularly encourage applicants who live in Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire, or Staffordshire, but applicants from across the Midlands are welcome. All roles will also be required to attend meetings in Nottingham and Birmingham at least once a month, on a rotating basis.

About the Role

We are recruiting for three Principal Net Zero Project Officers (‘Regional Officers’) to join our regional team. These roles will have a particular focus on the 'LEP' region they cover. The postholders will assist and support the Net Zero Project Manager in delivering regional energy generation projects and low‑carbon programmes as part of the Midlands Local Capacity Support Programme. You will lead and drive forward a range of Net Zero projects, from individual buildings to major regional infrastructure schemes, requiring excellent multi‑stakeholder engagement. Examples include district heating, EV infrastructure, and renewable energy generation.

About You

  • Strong project and programme management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Good knowledge of energy systems, decarbonisation and energy generation projects
