UK HR Director

Location: Hybrid – Cardiff or Redhill (2–3 days per week in office)

Contract: Full‑time, permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 per annum

Bonus: Performance‑based bonus of up to 20%

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded UK HR Director to lead and deliver the people strategy across the UK at IMG. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused leadership role, combining strategic influence with operational excellence. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to translate business objectives into practical, scalable people solutions—building leadership capability, supporting performance, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you’ll have line management responsibility for an HR & Payroll Advisor and act as the senior HR lead for the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and deliver a UK people strategy aligned to business priorities
  • Partner with senior leaders to drive organisational effectiveness, productivity, and workforce sustainability
  • Act as a trusted advisor on all people matters, balancing commercial outcomes with employee experience

Employee Relations & Employment Law

  • Lead UK employee relations activity, including complex cases, restructures, sickness management, and collective consultation
  • Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation, ACAS guidance, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage relationships with external legal and employment advisors
  • Oversee all UK visa activity, including renewals and associated budgets

Talent, Performance & Capability

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition on recruitment, workforce planning, and internal mobility
  • Embed effective performance management, leadership development, and capability‑building frameworks
  • Support leaders in building high‑performing, accountable teams

HR Governance, Payroll & Rewards

  • Own HR data, reporting, and metrics, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ensure strong governance across HR policies, processes, and decision‑making
  • Maintain and evolve UK HR policies, ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance
  • Oversee and audit monthly payroll, driving continuous process improvement
  • Support annual P11D processing and other tax documentation
  • Advise the Global Compensation & Benefits Manager on locally competitive reward strategies

Culture, Engagement & Change

  • Lead engagement and wellbeing initiatives in partnership with HR Centres of Excellence
  • Champion IMG’s values, leadership standards, and cultural initiatives across the UK
  • Support organisational change and cultural transformation

Health, Safety & Office Management

  • Manage relationships with Occupational Health for employee referrals
  • Oversee facilities management across two UK offices, ensuring safe, efficient, and well‑maintained workplaces
  • Manage relationships with landlords, building managers, and local suppliers

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–10 years’ progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a strategic or HR business partner role in the UK
  • Deep expertise in UK employment law and employee relations
  • Proven experience supporting senior leaders through organisational change
