Salary: Grade 8, £50,253 – £58,225 per annum.

This full‑time (35 hours per week) position is funded up to 26 April 2031. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to join the £10 million Gambling Harms Research and Evidence Centre, funded by UKRI. The Centre brings together researchers from the Universities of Glasgow, Sheffield, Swansea and Kings College London and oversees a consortium of up to 20 Gambling Harms Research and Innovation Partnerships.

As Programme Manager you will:

  • Influence the strategic direction of a national research centre focused on gambling harms.
  • Coordinate the activities of the consortium partners and synthesise existing evidence.
  • Commission major new research projects on the social, economic, structural and health‑related drivers of gambling‑related harm.
  • Build long‑term research capacity through training, secondments, events and skills development.
  • Work closely with the Executive Management Team to deliver on the Programme’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide operational, risk and administrative management of the Programme, collaborating with a Research Relationship Manager, a Programme Administrator and a Knowledge‑Exchange/Communications Lead.
  • Promote and manage excellent working relationships between Centre members, broader gambling‑harms research consortia and UKRI.
