Service Manager – Irlam

Seeking an experienced and proactive Service Manager to lead and develop an in‑house and field‑based Service Department within a growing SME environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on individual with strong technical, organisational and leadership skills to play a key role in driving service excellence and supporting the continued growth of our Installation and Service operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the activities of a small service team, including:
  • Maintaining and improving Service Department standards, protocols, work instructions and risk assessments
  • Further developing our newly introduced Installation service, including carrying out installation surveys and installations until fully established
  • Handling customer and distributor service-related queries and issues
  • Liaising with customers and attending meetings both on‑site and in‑house as required
  • Developing Service staff through training, mentoring and performance management
  • Conducting staff performance reviews and managing disciplinary matters where required
  • Managing departmental Health & Safety, including PPE, COSHH, staff wellbeing and Risk Assessments
  • Field Service Engineers
  • Service operatives
  • Stock control

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience managing and developing an in‑house and on‑site Service Department within an SME environment
  • Hands‑on experience servicing, maintaining and installing electromechanical products
  • 18th Edition Electrical Certification
  • Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small technical team
  • Full UK Driving Licence (any points must be declared at the application stage)

Monday – Friday

Salary £45,500
