Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical)
Location: Gainsborough
Salary: £45,000 starting salary rising to £47,500 after successful completion of 6‑month probation
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Shifts: Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm
On-Call: 1 in 4 rota
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well‑established and growing renewable energy and engineering business for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineer with either an electrical or mechanical bias.

The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a busy operational environment, ensuring equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and safe working practices at all times.
Duties may include
- Fault finding and repair on electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive breakdown response
- Working on pumps, motors, conveyors, control systems, valves, and associated equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records
- Working independently and as part of a wider engineering team
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 5 years' engineering experience
- Background within FMCG, industrial, or water/wastewater environments
- Multi‑skilled capability with either electrical or mechanical bias
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
- Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, BOAS or equivalent)
- Experience working in fast‑paced operational environments
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
