Job Description
We’re working with an ambitious, owner-led food business undergoing a significant phase of growth and operational development.
With an established presence across grocery and retail channels, the business is now investing in strengthening its UK supply chain capability, with a particular focus on ambient and chilled product categories.
This is a key hire as part of a broader build-out of the UK function.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to take ownership of end-to-end supply chain operations within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
You’ll play a central role in improving efficiency, enhancing supplier relationships, and supporting the business as it develops greater local manufacturing and sourcing capability.
It’s a hands‑on position with real scope to shape processes, influence decisions, and contribute to long‑term operational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships, onboarding, and performance
- Oversee logistics, warehousing, and 3PL partners
- Drive improvements in stock optimisation and supply chain efficiency
- Support the transition toward more locally sourced and manufactured products
- Ensure compliance across UK/EU supply, including import requirements
- Own quality processes including audits, complaints, and recall management
- Contribute to future systems and ERP implementation
- Work cross‑functionally with commercial, planning, and product teams
The Profile
- Proven experience across supply chain, logistics, and warehousing within FMCG or food
- Strong understanding of ambient and chilled supply chains
- Knowledge of product specifications, raw materials, and regulatory/import requirements
- Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, evolving business
- Commercially aware with a continuous improvement mindset
- Able to balance strategic thinking with day‑to‑day execution
This role would suit someone looking to step into a broader position with more ownership, or an experienced manager seeking a more entrepreneurial environment.
Why Join?
- Opportunity to shape and build supply chain capability in the UK
- Work directly with a highly entrepreneurial leadership team
- Be part of a business investing in product development and operational transformation
- Real autonomy and visibility in a growing organisation
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals, regardless of sex, belief, or age.
