Band 7–8a Clinical Psychologist
We are seeking a Band 7–8a Clinical Psychologist to join our well‑established Intellectual Disabilities CAMHS team in Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly skilled, compassionate multidisciplinary team where staff wellbeing, psychological safety and reflective practice are genuinely prioritised.
Responsibilities
Deliver a specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people with intellectual disabilities and co‑occurring mental health needs.
- Work with complex and high‑needs presentations within a trauma‑informed, neurodiversity‑affirming framework
- Provide clinical leadership, consultation and supervision within the MDT
- Employ strong multi‑agency working with families, education and social care
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement
Provide psychological advice, consultation, training and supervision to non‑psychological colleagues; deliver direct psychological assessments and interventions; offer clinical support for pilot projects and clinical developments across the service; liaise closely with other Clinical Psychologists and senior staff to support implementation of agreed system changes and service developments.
Qualifications
Registered Clinical Psychologist with significant experience in CAMHS, intellectual disabilities or related services, and a passion for ethical work with children and families.
