Deputy Manager
Location: Formby, Merseyside. Salary: £39,500- £40,000 per annum (inclusive of sleeps). Hours: Permanent, full-time (including 1-2 sleeps per week).
We are working in partnership with a provider of children’s residential services to recruit a Deputy Manager for their home in Formby, Merseyside. You will be joining a passionate and dedicated team supporting children with learning and physical disabilities within a nurturing residential setting.
Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the home.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of statutory and procedural frameworks for residential childcare, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Ensure each child has an individual care plan addressing emotional, social, and cultural needs.
- Oversee staffing levels, rotas, and training to meet the needs of the home.
- Lead and motivate staff, addressing conduct and competency issues in line with policy.
- Contribute to external audits and inspections.
- Support with budget management and financial oversight.
- Ensure all new staff receive a thorough induction and ongoing development.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a senior or managerial role within a children’s residential setting.
- A passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable).
- Experience supporting children with LD or PD.
