The Association Visitor offers emotional and informational support locally to individuals affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Recruitment through Safer Recruitment process: formal interview, references, mandated review.
- DBS or Access NI check required.
- Complete formal induction and sign‑off process, including mandatory training within first 6 months: live classroom sessions, e‑learning, system and policy training, safeguarding, inclusion, GDPR, cybersecurity.
- Ongoing local support from the allocated Community Support Coordinator (CSC).
Responsibilities
- Offer emotional support to people living with or affected by MND.
- Signpost and provide helping, relevant information to enable access to appropriate services and support.
- Attend virtual and/or face‑to‑face sessions regularly: peer support meetings, 1:1 sessions and other development events.
- Handle data, take notes and produce simple reports using online systems.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other volunteers and staff across the local branch or group, including the CSC.
- Adhere to all MND Association policies and procedures applicable to the role.
- Travel may be required within an agreed area on an expense basis.
- Time commitment varies: 1–4 hours per week.
