The business prides itself on its employee-focused environment, commitment to innovation, and high-performing finance function. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to oversee several key corporate entities within the group.

The Role

This position will take ownership of the financial control and reporting responsibilities across a number of corporate entities, ensuring strong governance, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvement within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall financial responsibility for multiple corporate entities
  • Review and oversee accounting activity processed by shared service and operational finance teams
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and reporting packs
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time
  • Monitor cash flow and capital management activities
  • Lead the coordination of interim and year-end audits, acting as the key contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate current finance processes and systems, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and controls
  • Support compliance with both UK GAAP and US GAAP accounting requirements
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members while escalating key issues where appropriate
  • Partner with wider finance teams to resolve operational and reporting challenges

Operational Accounting

  • Review and reconcile key balance sheet accounts
  • Manage accruals and related accounting adjustments
  • Oversee manual rebate calculations and associated reporting

Commercial & Business Support

  • Produce detailed financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
  • Support financial modelling and analysis for new business initiatives and product launches
  • Assist with fund reviews and investor impact assessments

Candidate Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant with ideally 10-15 years’ post-qualified experience
  • Previous experience within financial services or investment management preferred
  • Prior team management or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
