VAR Services Engineer – Electrical


Field‑Based (UK – regional travel)


Pay: £17.14 per hour + generous overtime


Hours: 37.5 per week | Early Friday finish

The Role


This is a hands‑on, field‑based role focusing on Power Factor Correction (PFC) equipment, servicing, fault‑finding and power quality monitoring. You'll work closely with internal technical and sales teams while building strong relationships with customers on site.



What You'll Be Doing



  • Servicing and maintaining Power Factor Correction (PFC) equipment

  • Fault‑finding and repairing PFC systems on site

  • Carrying out load monitoring and power quality surveys

  • Producing reports and recommendations following site visits

  • Preparing and working to RAMS

  • Liaising with customers to ensure clear scope and expectations

  • Quoting remedial works and replacement equipment

  • Ordering parts and coordinating with suppliersInvestigating equipment failures and identifying improvements

  • Identifying additional service and upgrade opportunities



What We're Looking For



  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (essential)

  • Fully electrically qualified and confident isolating panels

  • Experience in service, maintenance or fault‑finding roles

  • Customer‑focused with strong communication skills

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites



Progression & Development


This is a specialist role with real long‑term potential. Approved Engineer rate: up to £19.12 per hour. Technician level: up to £24.77 per hour. Opportunities to become a recognised technical specialist.
