Job Overview
The Faculty of Engineering invites applications for a faculty position as part of a coordinated cluster of five positions. These positions collectively aim to advance collaborative research and teaching across complex global challenges such as infrastructure resilience, environmental sustainability, and responsible resource development. Candidates in the Water Resources Engineering track will work within a research ecosystem that includes the Geotechnical Centre, the Water Research Centre, and the Centre for Computational Geostatistics, engaging in multidisciplinary research that spans geotechnical, hydrological, and environmental engineering.
Responsibilities
- Teaching (40%): Design and deliver courses in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, supervise student projects, and provide academic advising throughout the year.
- Research (40%): Conduct innovative research in surface water hydrology, cold‑regions hydrology, hydroclimatic extremes, and contaminant transport, and pursue external funding to sustain a graduate‑level research program.
- Service (20%): Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university governance, and disseminate research findings to the broader community.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the start date.
- Demonstrated record or exceptional potential for high‑quality research and teaching.
- Strong commitment to mentoring and developing undergraduate and graduate students.
- Experience or clear potential to secure externally funded research and develop multidisciplinary programs.
- Professional Engineer licence or equivalent is required for courses involving engineering design.
