OCHO is partnering with a scaling Belfast headquartered Tech consultancy to recruit a Financial Controller to join the team. With a team of over 100 consultants and a strong pipeline of enterprise contracts, my client is at an exciting stage of their growth journey – scaling operations, expanding into new markets, and building the finance infrastructure to facilitate this.

The successful candidate will be a technically strong Financial Controller who will lead the day to day financial operations of the business – ensuring numbers are accurate, controls are robust for growth, and leadership team has access to financial information they need to make commercial decisions.

This is a hands on role leading a small finance team.

The Role

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts – including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Lead the year-end close process and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, overseeing all statutory filings including Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE
  • Own the annual budgeting cycle and maintain rolling quarterly forecasts, delivering variance analysis
  • Act as a genuine commercial partner to the business – working with the CEO and CFO to build financial models that support strategic decisions, pricing reviews, new service line development, and investment cases
  • Partner with sales and business development teams to provide financial input into proposals, pricing structures, and contract negotiations
  • Develop and refine pricing frameworks across time-and-materials, fixed-price, and retainer engagements, and provide financial modelling to support bids for larger contracts and framework agreements
  • Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure the business maintains healthy liquidity, alongside oversight of billing, accounts receivable, credit control, and accounts payable
  • Work closely with delivery leads and project managers to track project profitability, utilisation rates, and revenue recognition across the portfolio
  • Provide financial support for bid reviews and contract renewals
  • Take ownership of improving financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows as the business scales

The Person

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, ideally within scaling Tech (Series A/B stage or equivalent organic growth)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP / IFRS)
  • Experience managing month-end close and producing management accounts
  • Confident communicator who can translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders
  • Exposure to multi-currency transactions or international billing
  • Experience supporting due diligence processes or investor reporting
