Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and repairing a variety of CNC machine tools at client sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your engineering expertise in a dynamic environment, providing essential support to ensure optimal operational performance. The position involves travel to customer locations, requiring flexibility and excellent customer service skills.
Duties
- Complete full annual services to various different machines either alone or with another engineer.
- Diagnose technical mechanical issues.
- Removal and refitting of various parts including ballscrews and spindles.
- Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a machine tool service engineer.
- Willingness to travel nationwide and occasionally stay away.
- Experience with Mazatrol and / or Fanuc controls.
- Good mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions.
- Ability to work independently in diverse environments while maintaining safety standards.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering are preferred but not required.
- Standard working hour – Monday to Thursday: 8.5 hours, Friday: 6 hours.
- Overtime paid at x1.5.
- Company car or mileage paid on personal car.
- 28 days paid holiday rising to 33 days after 5 years (including bank holidays).
