Position‑Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures including, but not limited to, X‑ray and Fluoroscopy, with C‑arm, and OR work.
  • Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
  • Ability to operate equipment consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
  • May be required to perform other functions within the clinic; any additional training required will be provided.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
  • Obtains additional training or certification as required.
  • Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
  • Assists, trains, or cross‑trains imaging staff members as directed.
  • Must be self‑motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Orders, stocks, and maintains supply inventory.

  • Completes all required annual education, training, in‑services, and licensure/certification updates; actively participates in departmental and organizational meetings or reviews meeting minutes as required.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
  • Actively contributes to departmental and organization‑wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
  • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.

Education, Licensure, and Certification

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer).

Experience

  • Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist.
  • Cross‑trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to, DEXA and Mammography.
  • Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
