Senior Midwife – Maternity Triage

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed senior midwife to join the Maternity Triage team at Forth Valley. This key role supports the delivery of safe, effective, and timely emergency maternity care across the pregnancy pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of safe, effective, and timely emergency maternity care across the pregnancy pathway.
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership, offering day‑to‑day support to midwives.
  • Contribute to service improvement.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary and consultant teams across maternity services.
  • Participate in clinical and professional leadership across the organisation to support positive outcomes for women, babies, and staff.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to patient safety.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge with evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Awareness of current research and national guidelines.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Ability to manage a fast‑paced, evolving workload.
  • Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

Employment Details

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
