Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven, enthusiastic and highly-experienced Capacity Site Manager to join the Emergency Division management team. The post holder will be responsible for the timely and appropriate placement of patients requiring acute or elective admission to hospital, on a daily basis, by proactive management and leadership. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining an up to date overview of actual and predicted bed capacity and demand. The post holder will provide up to date site management reports on bed base and demand and agreed outlined action plans, ensuring the Trust meets local and government targets. The post holder will possess the knowledge, specialist skills and experience to identify all triggers that could impact on patient pathways and implement action plans to assist in the resolution of such pressures, ensuring patient safety and experience is paramount. The post holder will possess specialist skills to lead, support and co-ordinate an effective service; to initiate prioritisation and delegation of workload and resources. The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support to the wards and multi-professional teams in managing effective patient discharges as an integral part of care management across the Trust.

  • Provide specialist advice and support to wards and multi-professional teams in managing effective patient discharges as part of care management across the Trust.
  • Maintain excellent internal and external channels of communication between staff, patients and relatives, fostering an open and proactive working environment.

Requirements

  • Experience as Capacity Site Manager or equivalent in an Emergency Division or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge and skills to identify triggers impacting patient pathways and implement action plans to resolve pressures.
  • Specialist ability to lead, support and coordinate services, and to prioritise and delegate workload and resources.
  • Ability to provide specialist discharge planning guidance to wards and multi-professional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
