Description
- Lead end‑to‑end procurement activity across materials, products and services, ensuring best value and security of supply
- Develop and execute sourcing and supplier strategies aligned to business and operational goals
- Run competitive supplier selection and tender processes, from market assessment through to contract award
- Negotiate commercial terms and manage supplier relationships to improve cost, service and risk outcomes
- Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Planning and Finance to support forecasting, S&OP and project delivery
- Monitor procurement performance, budgets and supplier KPIs, producing clear reports for senior stakeholders
- Build market intelligence and provide insight on supply risks, trends and opportunities
- Lead, coach and develop a small purchasing team to deliver consistent, high‑quality results
Profile
- Proven experience in a senior purchasing or procurement role within an FMCG environment – ideally packaging, materials or chemicals.
- Strong negotiator with a track record of delivering commercial and supply chain improvements
- Comfortable managing suppliers, data and stakeholders at senior management level
- Experienced people manager who can motivate, develop and lead a small team
- Degree, CIPS or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous
