About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Market Access Manager to lead market access strategy across a cardio-metabolic portfolio within South Wales. This highly visible short-term assignment offers the opportunity to shape patient access by working closely with NHS stakeholders, identifying and overcoming access barriers and delivering impactful regional account plans. Operating in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment, you will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute strategic business plans while positioning value propositions that improve outcomes for both patients and healthcare systems. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver priority account plans aligned to local market access objectives across brands
- Collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to implement regional business plans
- Build strategic partnerships with NHS stakeholders including medicines management, commissioners and hospital pharmacy teams
- Act as the primary payer contact within key NHS organisations across South Wales health boards
- Communicate compelling value propositions tailored to customer needs using appropriate value-added programmes
- Analyse business intelligence to identify performance gaps and implement tactical improvement plans
- Maintain deep understanding of local health economies, commissioning pathways and competitive landscapes
- Identify opportunities to mobilise internal functions (medical, outcomes, partnerships) to enhance account value
- Serve as a subject matter expert on NHS and commercial environments within the territory
- Share market intelligence internally and contribute to payer materials, tools and commercial initiatives
- Lead field team business reviews and support optimisation of digital and multi-channel engagement strategies
Requirements
- Residence within or close to the South Wales territory
- Strong commercial and business acumen with analytical and strategic planning capability
- Proven ability to influence diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Deep understanding of NHS structures, policy, and local healthcare environments
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience using multi-channel and virtual engagement approaches effectively
- Ability to lead account planning and prioritisation aligned to brand strategy
- Knowledge of pharmaco-economic principles and health economic tools
- Strong data literacy with confidence using business systems and insights
- Experience applying Strategic Account Management, negotiation and KAM methodologies
- Ability to forecast, build business cases, and manage complex account projects
