Health & Safety Manager

Location: Office-based (with nationwide travel)

Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)

Hours: Monday – Friday

Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a well-established and growing construction company.

This is a key position within the business, responsible for ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting operational teams across multiple sites nationwide.

The Role

As Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of all HSE activities across the business, ensuring full compliance with current legislation and industry best practice.

While the role is primarily office-based, you will be required to travel to sites across the UK to carry out inspections, audits, and provide on-site support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports
  • Deliver health & safety training and toolbox talks
  • Support site teams in maintaining a safe working environment
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across the business

What We’re Looking For

  • NEBOSH qualification (essential)
  • Proven experience within a Health & Safety role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Willingness to travel to sites nationwide
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
