We are seeking to appoint a Technical Support and Intelligence Manager to lead our successful Technical Support and Intelligence Team. Working not just on current processes but also being pivotal in supporting the redesigning of our responses in line with the Renters Rights Act 2025. As a member of the Private Sector Housing Management Team you will ensure that the Team is there to support the delivery of all Private Sector Housing activities. This includes receiving applications for licences, triaging complaints regarding housing conditions, investigating unlicensed properties, and gathering intelligence about the standards and occupation of properties across West Northamptonshire.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team of Technical Support Officers and the Intelligence Officer, who collectively undertake a wide range of activities in support of our statutory housing duties.
- Investigate disrepair, criminal activities and gather intelligence around unlicensed properties and criminal activities within the Private Sector housing stock across West Northamptonshire.
- Work with key partners such as Police, Fire & Rescue, Immigration, HMRC and others to ensure residents are safeguarded and afforded safe accommodation.
- Collect, review, draw conclusions from and store a range of intelligence information sources to direct the Team’s response to the detection and prevention of crime.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant degree and significant experience in the gathering, management, analysis and storage of intelligence.
- A management qualification or significant experience in leading, supporting and motivating change.
- Existing knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and the local authorities regulatory and enforcement powers in relation to private sector housing conditions and landlords would be an advantage.
- Confidence and passion to succeed in ensuring that our residents have safe and sustainable accommodation across the private rented sector.
Conditions and Requirements
This role offers hybrid working: 2 days working from home and 3 days out across West Northants. A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
