Overview
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm’s data and analytics journey, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, and leveraging data to generate insights and drive decision‑making. It also develops and implements solutions that support commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to create new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management.
Position
Applied AI ML Director – NLP / LLM and Graphs within the Chief Data & Analytics Office, Machine Learning Center of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop state‑of‑the‑art machine learning models to solve real‑world problems in natural language processing, speech analytics, time‑series predictions, or recommendation systems.
- Collaborate with partner teams across Business, Technology, Product Management, Legal, Compliance, Strategy, and Management to deploy solutions into production.
- Drive firm‑wide initiatives by building large‑scale frameworks that accelerate the application of machine learning across business areas.
- Research and explore new machine learning methods through independent study, conferences, experimentation, and participation in the knowledge‑sharing community.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or MS in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Optimization, Data Science) with significant industry or research experience.
- Solid background in NLP, LLM, graph analytics and hands‑on experience with deep learning methods.
- Experience building agentic AI or multi‑agent systems in regulated or compliance‑driven environments.
- Ability to design experiments, training frameworks, and evaluate intrinsic and extrinsic metrics aligned with business goals, especially for agentic systems and LLM evaluation.
- Experience with big data, scalable model training, and strong written and spoken communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Scientific thinking, independent work ability, and teamwork in a highly collaborative environment.
- Curious, hardworking, detail‑oriented, and motivated by complex analytical problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in Mathematics and Statistics and familiarity with financial services and continuous integration models.
- Knowledge of graph integration with LLM, Reinforcement Learning, or Meta Learning.
- Experience with A/B experimentation, data/metric‑driven product development, cloud‑native deployment at large scale, and developing/debugging production‑quality code.
- Published research in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Reinforcement Learning at major conferences or journals.
