Support the Head of Resilience in delivering a force-wide resilience strategy, ensuring West Midlands Police complies with its statutory duties under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004, ISO 22301 Societal Security: Business Continuity Management Systems and the Business Continuity Institute Good Practice Guidelines. Work with the Training, Testing and Exercising Resilience Manager to deliver the T&E programme and facilitate organisational learning within specialist policing response.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovate and modernise the WMP resilience department through key initiatives.
- Upkeep and revision of the force-wide Business Continuity Management programme.
- Ensure necessary data is recorded and maintained to demonstrate compliance with CCA, BCI Good Practice Guidelines and ISO 22301.
- Scope national best practice and learning to inform decision making to the Head of Resilience.
- Act as a point of contact for the force for business continuity.
- Represent WMP at local, regional and national events, internal meetings and partnership arrangements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Coordinate and support staff to plan and deliver tests and exercises.
- Provide subject‑matter expert advice to assist the internal decision‑making process at all command levels.
- Horizon‑scan and analyse information to ensure arrangements are in place for potential incidents.
- Participate in risk assessment, advising on actions to remove or minimise risk in the event of an incident.

- Postholder required to hold a recognised qualification in Business Continuity and/or disaster planning
- Minimum of three years experience in Business Continuity Management
