About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) to join a major infrastructure project at Sellafield. This key delivery role supports the Project Manager in the safe and successful delivery of complex electrical packages — from scope definition through to construction, installation and commissioning. The incumbent will take ownership of technical delivery, coordinate subcontractors, manage programme requirements and ensure all works are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning, execution and delivery of electrical works
- Manage technical aspects including design reviews, technical queries and installation assurance
- Coordinate subcontractors and supply chain to ensure programme and quality targets are met
- Oversee procurement, material delivery and package management
- Review and produce key documentation (WPPs, ITPs, RFIs, drawings, etc.)
- Monitor progress, identify risks and support cost and programme control
- Lead supplier engagement including technical evaluation and FATs where required
- Provide technical support to internal teams and client stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
Who We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a construction or project engineering role (electrical)
- Strong knowledge of LV & MV power distribution systems
- Experience working with subcontractors and managing technical packages
- Ability to manage programme, cost and technical risk
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of UK/European standards and regulations (e.g. ATEX/DSEAR desirable)
- CSCS card (essential)
- Ability to gain a security clearance
Desirable
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Professional membership (e.g. IET)
- Experience in regulated environments (nuclear, energy, infrastructure)
- SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification
- Experience with Lean Construction principles
