About the role

Hours: 37.5 | 9.00am – 5.30pm – Hybrid working available with 2 days working from home and 3 days in our office close to East Croydon Station.

Key responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of preparing relevant internal and external reporting deliverables for Superdrug, Savers, AS Watson (Health & Beauty UK) Limited, including coordination of period‑end activities.
  • Co‑ordinate the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations for relevant entities, ensuring robust reviews are performed and issues are appropriately resolved or escalated.
  • Prepare direct and indirect cash flows and balance sheet reporting for relevant entities, delivering timely, accurate forecasts and insightful variance analyses.
  • Take full ownership of preparing the annual corporation tax computations for relevant entities, including capital allowances, payments on account and period‑end tax postings.
  • Develop and produce other relevant financial reports as required, for example annual statutory accounts.
  • Support the Senior Financial Reporting Manager in ensuring Group accounting policy and internal control guidelines are understood by key stakeholders and in establishing the impact of new accounting standards.
  • Support the Senior Financial Reporting Manager in undertaking ad‑hoc projects for continuous improvement in financial reporting and the control environment.
  • Line‑management of a Financial Accountant.
  • Work with the team to incorporate AI tools where appropriate, balancing efficiency with human judgment and coaching.

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Experience of month‑end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and corporation tax (advantageous).
  • Strong control mindset and ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Proven track record of working independently and picking up new areas quickly.
  • Ability to manage complex messages with stakeholders and drive process improvement.
  • Positive attitude towards feedback and a culture of continuous improvement.
