Lead Engineer (Aircraft Landing Gear Documentation & Traceability) – West London.
Location: West London
Salary: £47,450 – £55,000

Main responsibilities
- Lead and support a small team of documentation engineers and administrators, plus external partners
- Oversee back-to-birth traceability of landing gear systems and components
- Manage the creation, validation, and archiving of technical documentation
- Ensure full traceability of life-limited parts, serialised components, and service history
- Review and reconcile documentation from OEMs, MROs, and suppliers
- Investigate and resolve documentation discrepancies and non‑conformities
- Liaise with airlines, lessors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders
- Develop and implement best‑practice documentation standards and processes
- Support lease transitions, redeliveries, and overhaul projects
- Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation within records management
- Prepare detailed BTB trace reports and present findings to stakeholders and customers
Ideal candidate profile
- Minimum 5 years' experience in aircraft technical records or documentation engineering
- Strong knowledge of landing gear systems and associated documentation requirements – ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience with back‑to‑birth traceability
- Familiarity with EASA / FAA regulations (Part 145, Part M, Part 21)
- Experience supporting lease transitions, redeliveries, or major maintenance events
- Experience using systems such as AMOS, TRAX, or similar
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with digital records system implementation
- Knowledge of ProvenAir or similar documentation platforms
- Background in continuous improvement or quality methodologies
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Additional certifications in aviation records, compliance, or quality are advantageous
