We're seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with strong water sector experience to help shape the future of water infrastructure by bringing technical expertise, innovative thinking, and leadership to our team. Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design across water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works, pumping stations and network assets.
- Contribute to the strategic technical direction and standards for our Electrical Engineering team.
- Develop and evaluate options to identify the least whole-life cost solutions.
- Review and approve technical reports, calculations, designs and drawings for compliance with technical, health and safety, legal and environmental standards.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentoring to support developing Engineers.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure scope alignment and integrated delivery.
- Liaise with site managers on technical issues and ensure design proceeds in line with budgetary and programme constraints.
- Provide technical leadership on industrial power system design, including specification of distribution substation and standby generation equipment (HV and LV systems).
- Provide expert input into control systems design.
Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in electrical design.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- In-depth understanding of BS 7671:2018.
- Experience working with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Positive, adaptable mindset and strong team ethics.
