Finance Business Analyst | Manchester | £450–£550 LTD per Day

We’re supporting a Private Equity–backed organisation delivering a portfolio of high-value, business-critical projects, and we’re looking for a commercially astute Finance Business Analyst to join on an initial 12 month engagement.

This is a high-impact interim role sitting at the intersection of finance, operations, and project delivery. Ideal for someone who can bring rigour to financial performance, challenge assumptions, and drive better decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment.

The opportunity:

You’ll play a key role in overseeing the financial performance of projects end-to-end, partnering closely with operational and senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with clear commercial visibility.

This is not a reporting role, it’s a true business partnering position, requiring both technical strength and the confidence to influence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee project financial performance from initiation to completion, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
  • Partner with project managers and senior stakeholders to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions, and support decision‑making
  • Develop and deliver timely, accurate reporting on project performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and cost profiles
  • Support investment appraisals, including ROI, NPV, and payback modelling for new initiatives
  • Ensure strong financial governance and control across the project portfolio
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and transparency

About you:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Proven experience across FP&A, project accounting, and commercial finance
  • Exposure to large‑scale project environments
  • Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and CapEx management
  • Advanced financial modelling and business case development skills
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
  • Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable working with senior leaders and non‑finance teams
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence decisions

What’s on offer:

  • High‑visibility role within a commercially driven, PE‑backed environment
  • Opportunity to influence strategic project outcomes and investment decisions
  • Fast‑paced, delivery‑focused culture with real impact
