Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test mechanical components and mechanisms for aerospace and defence applications
  • Conduct structural and thermal analyses, including Finite Element (FE) modelling, to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines
  • Support prototyping, testing, and practical assembly of mechanical systems and mechanisms
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to design reviews and support engineering decision-making across project lifecycles


Experience required;

  • Demonstrated experience working within highly regulated environments, ideally aerospace or space sectors
  • Strong understanding of structural and/or thermal analysis and FE modelling techniques
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software (CAD) and analysis tools for structural, thermal, and mathematical modelling
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: gears, motors, or mechanical mechanisms
  • Practical experience in building and testing mechanical systems and mechanisms
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
