Job Title
Locum Fixed Time Consultant Radiologist – Interests in Breast and Body Imaging; Roles at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist breast and general body imaging support, including breast clinics, image‑guided procedures, reporting sessions and MDT participation.
- Contribute to Breast Imaging specialist services: screening, symptomatic work, and regional breast MDTs.
- Maintain competency in breast imaging and image‑guided interventions, including breast MRI and MRI‑guided biopsy.
- Conduct acute and cold CT sessions in the general radiology department; accommodate other subspecialist interests as required.
- Provide evening inpatient CT cover once a week, with compensatory time off.
- Participate in the general body on‑call rota (currently 1 in 20).
- Work with existing Radiologists to deliver department activity, ensuring waiting lists and times are met and that risk management and clinical governance principles are upheld.
- Support multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Develop an academic and research interest; specialists may add skills to the Trust’s imaging scope.
- Operate home PACS for remote viewing of diagnostic imaging.
Location and Working Hours
Primarily based at the University Hospital site, with potential clinics at STX, Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC), and occasional clinics at George Eliot Hospital (GEH) as part of job planning.
