With a strong international position within the fruit and fresh produce supply chain, the business is currently expanding its operations across the United Kingdom and Europe. As an experienced customs specialist, you will be responsible for managing UK customs processes, ensuring the correct handling of import and export shipments.This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, work collaboratively with operations teams, and bring valuable knowledge and ideas to support the wider logistics operation.Customs Clearance Clerk Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently handle import and export customs clearancesComplete customs declarations using Custrans software (training provided)Manage sea freight import customs processes and support export entries where requiredPrepare, review and submit customs documentation and declarationsEnsure full compliance with UK and international customs regulationsCoordinate logistics activities within the perishable supply chainLiaise with internal operations teams, freight partners, clients and regulatory authoritiesMaintain communication with customs authorities, logistics partners and customersContribute ideas and operational improvements to enhance efficiency across the businessCustoms Clearance Clerk Experience RequiredMinimum 3 years’ experience in customs clearanceStrong experience handling customs entries for sea freight importsExposure to export shipmentsPrevious background within freight forwardingOperational logistics experience is beneficialExperience working with DEFRA and IPAFFSExperience within perishable logistics or fresh produce supply chains is highly desirableExcellent attention to detail and compliance awarenessAbility to work independently and manage multiple shipmentsEntrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approachComfortable helping establish new processes and operational structuresBenefitsAnnual Christmas bonusAnnual company trip to Cape Town – fully paidOpportunity to join a rapidly growing international logistics organisationThe chance to play a key role in building new UK operationsWR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
