Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Swavesey, Cambridge (Onsite) • Salary: £50,000 • Type: Full-time, Permanent
My client, a leading manufacturer in industrial printing technology, is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced, high-performance systems. This role focuses on designing, testing, and implementing electrical components within complex industrial machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including control panels, power distribution, and communication interfaces
- Produce schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software
- Select and specify electrical components (sensors, relays, power supplies, etc.)
- Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (CE, UL, IEC)
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams
- Support production builds and continuous product improvement
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years' experience in electrical design
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD)
- Strong knowledge of power systems, motor control, and PLC integration
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols
- Experience working to relevant safety and quality standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects
