This is a newly created opportunity to enhance the speed, consistency, and commercial accuracy of project pricing across a diverse client portfolio. The role will be instrumental in transitioning from a traditional multi-quote approach to a more data-driven pricing model, including the development of a robust cost database to enable faster turnaround and improved cost certainty.


Working across four business units, the Quantity Surveyor will support a growing project team and contribute to delivering commercially sound solutions within a fast-paced and evolving environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database to support efficient and reliable pricing
  • Produce accurate cost estimates, budgets, and benchmarking data to improve response times to client requests
  • Review and analyse subcontractor pricing, reducing reliance on multiple quotations where appropriate
  • Manage project costs across the full lifecycle, ensuring commercial control from inception to completion
  • Administer contracts in line with JCT and NEC forms, including accurate management of variations
  • Monitor project financial performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and profitability targets
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operational teams to ensure commercially viable delivery
  • Support procurement strategies and subcontractor engagement to achieve best value outcomes
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks across projects
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing methodologies and commercial processes
  • Provide clear, timely reporting on project financial status


Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver fast, accurate, and commercially robust pricing aligned to client expectations
  • Maintain strong cost control and governance across multiple projects and business units
  • Support divisional growth by improving pricing efficiency and commercial insight
  • Contribute to profitability through effective cost management and value engineering


Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out, M&E, or facilities management
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, including variation management
  • Experience managing costs across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to improve pricing processes or implement cost systems/databases
  • Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of cost drivers and value engineering
  • Experience contributing to or managing P&L performance is advantageous
  • Background in fast-paced and client-facing environments preferred


Desirable Background

  • Experience in critical environments, lifecycle projects, or technical facilities
  • Exposure to fit-out, refurbishment, or construction projects
  • Strong commercial accountability and ownership
