Overview of the role

We have an exciting opportunity in our Technical Assurance workstream for a senior role. As a Technical Principal for Assurance, you will be at the heart of our assurance delivery for Clients, with significant contributions to our business winning and delivery capability. Reporting directly to the Workstream Lead, you will be an important part of our Assurance Team and the wider asset management practice community.

  • Technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions such as annual performance reporting, business cases and business plans, long‑term strategic plans, operational performance and deliverables
  • Wastewater and bioresources investment planning
  • Strategic asset management and business planning
  • Carbon and net zero appraisal and strategic planning
  • Integrated systems management
  • Data analytics and decision support tools
  • Academic and professional qualifications, with relevant skills and experience to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace
  • Background of engineering, accounting/economics, asset management, auditing and technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions such as annual performance reporting, business cases and business plans, long‑term strategic plans and deliverables
  • Skills in asset management ISO standards and requirements, technical audits, the assessment of regulatory requirements and impacts on service outputs, service metrics, performance commitments and the associated base and enhancement schemes
  • Experience of collaborative research for UK water companies and regulators and use of the research outputs in assurance activities, is an advantage
  • Proven experience of delivering technical assurance work with the constraints of regulatory submission timescales
  • Membership of a professional body and/or water regulatory networks as an expert and expert witness
  • Capable of presenting assurance findings in a clear and understandable manner through formal and information presentations and assurance reports
  • Skills to adapt to changing situations and environments and to respond quickly and proactively to emerging opportunities and risks
  • Ability to provide support and mentoring to graduate members of the assurance group and promote “can‑do” behaviours and coaching activities
  • Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK, as well as short international visits
