An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a London Borough on an initial 3-month contract.
This role sits within a busy and well-established Private Sector Housing team, offering the chance to contribute to improving housing standards, ensuring compliance, and delivering effective enforcement across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out HHSRS inspections and property assessments
- Manage and process HMO licensing applications
- Undertake housing enforcement activity in line with current legislation
- Manage an independent caseload within a Local Authority setting
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders
Essential Requirements:
- Strong experience working within Private Sector Housing in a Local Authority
- In-depth knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- Experience with HMO Licensing
- Proven enforcement experience (essential)
- Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
