Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a specialist logistics and marine transport company widely recognised for its heavy‑lift, project cargo, and offshore services to recruit a Project Engineer for the Portishead site.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and site operations teams.
  • Apply technical expertise to design innovative engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation projects.
  • Conduct site assessments and provide conceptual plans for lifting operations.
  • Prepare and review both existing and updated engineering documentation.
  • Create detailed drawings, calculations, visualisations, operation manuals, risk assessments, and other essential project documents.
  • Oversee project execution to ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
  • Maintain rigorous document quality and control throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Participate in site visits to gather client requirements and be present during operations to lead, support, and motivate the team.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • CSCS Appointed Person certification
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification (desirable)
  • CCNSG Safety Passport (desirable)
  • Experience managing large‑scale construction projects
  • Experience with lifting operations using mobile cranes, tower cranes, and crawler cranes

Salary and Benefits

  • £50,000 – £65,000
  • 25 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays
