We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Fitter for a permanent position based with our client in Hull.
Immediate start available (Subject to interview process).
Salary is £52,000 per annum (depending on experience).
This position works Monday to Friday, 6:30am till 4:30pm (with occasional weekends in line with operations).
Expectations
- Effective collaboration with operations, electrical and EHS teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Oversee maintenance strategies for bulk handling equipment inclusive of cranes, belt conveyors, chain conveyors, bucket elevators, hoppers, silos, dust collectors and related components.
- Drive reliability improvements using root cause analysis.
- Ensure minimal downtime through effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs while attending breakdowns promptly.
- Flexibility to respond to operational priorities, including occasional out of hours support.
Main Responsibilities
- Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of bulk material handling systems.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
- Basic IT literacy (SAP, MS Office).
- Comfortable working at height and within confined spaces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Minimum level 3 NVQ or city and guilds in mechanical engineering.
- UK driving licence + use of own car.
- Relevant industry training (Health and Safety, manual handling, working at height, confined space, first aid at work) – desirable.
