Associate (Bermuda)
Island Paradise Recruitment is looking for an Associate to join our insolvency & restructuring team in Bermuda. You will be involved in a wide range of interesting and challenging engagements and deals, often spanning multiple jurisdictions. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in insolvency, restructuring and litigation support through exposure to working with lenders, investors, companies and their advisors in distressed and urgent situations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting with day‑to‑day management of engagements such as court winding up and voluntary liquidations, receiverships, forensic investigation, corporate advisory and financial and operational restructuring.
- Understanding market and topical issues for various restructuring propositions as well as conducting industry and business research when required.
- Drafting reports for the court and other stakeholders including creditors.
- Compiling, reviewing and analysing books and records, conducting an inventory of assets, dealing with creditor inquiries and claims.
- Performing cash‑flow forecasts, financial analysis and other financial investigations.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years of insolvency/restructuring experience.
- Interest in pursuing a recognised accounting or insolvency qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPI, etc.).
- Insolvency experience in a common law jurisdiction (U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc.).
- Experience within a Big‑4 or Top‑10 accountancy firm or advisory firm (global or boutique).
Compensation & Benefits
A competitive low‑tax remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a relocation and work permit package. Bermuda has no income tax, only a small payroll tax.
