Data Business Analyst (Data Quality & Governance) (Contract) – London / Hybrid
Robert Half International (an S&P 500 global staffing provider) is supporting a global consulting firm in the search for a Data Business Analyst to join a major transformation programme. This role sits within programme governance and will work closely with senior stakeholders to surface requirements, investigate data issues, and support completion of key data deliverables across the programme.
Assignment Details:
- Initial 6-month contract (with strong likelihood of extension)
- Start Date: 2–3 weeks (fast-track onboarding)
- Location: Hybrid (1–2 days per week in London)
- Rate: £450–£500 p/day via FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on analysis of datasets to identify data quality issues and root causes with minimal guidance
- Supporting data requirements discovery across stakeholders and workstreams
- Data mapping, validation, reconciliation and quality improvement across multiple sources
- Producing core documentation such as data dictionaries, definitions and artefacts to support delivery
- Supporting data modelling / structure understanding (e.g., ERDs and key entity relationships)
- Supporting master data / governance considerations including data definitions, ownership and controls
- Working with teams on reporting/BI needs and ensuring data is fit-for-purpose
- Supporting governance activity relating to PII, GDPR and data security considerations
Required Experience:
- Proven Business Analyst experience in data-heavy environments (not a current IT developer profile)
- Strong data analysis capability and technical curiosity (comfortable investigating and problem-solving)
- Strong SQL skills (able to interrogate and analyse data directly)
- Data architecture / modelling awareness (able to create or support ERDs and data dictionaries)
- Data governance knowledge (PII, GDPR, data security, DPIA awareness)
- Strong Excel skills
- Comfortable working with disparate/overlapping datasets and data quality topics (e.g., deduplication, obfuscation)
Preferred/Useful (not essential):
- Master Data Management exposure (e.g., Profisee, Attacama, or similar)
- MS Access
- Visio and/or business process mapping
