Registered Children's Home Manager (Dual Registration: Ofsted & CQC) | West Midlands | Complex Care, Learning Disabilities & Physical Comorbidities
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established provider seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead a dual-registered children's service in the West Midlands. This is a role for a leader who understands what it really takes to support young people with the most layered and demanding needs.
About the service
The home supports children and young people presenting with a combination of learning disabilities, complex clinical care needs and physical comorbidities. This is not a single-pathway service. It requires a manager who is confident operating at the intersection of social care, clinical care and therapeutic practice, and who can hold the standards expected by both Ofsted and the CQC simultaneously.
What you'll be responsible for
Holding registration with both Ofsted (Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards) and the CQC (regulated activities under the Health and Social Care Act). Leading a multidisciplinary team including support staff, nurses and clinical input, ensuring care plans reflect each child's learning disabilities, medical and developmental needs. Driving compliance, safeguarding and quality assurance to a standard that withstands the scrutiny of both regulators. Building trusted relationships with placing authorities, commissioners, families and clinical partners. Coaching and developing your team so that practice is consistently child-centred, trauma-informed and clinically safe.
What we're looking for
Current or recent experience as a Registered Manager of a children's home (ideally rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted), with genuine working knowledge of CQC regulation. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to complete it. Demonstrable experience supporting young people with combined learning disabilities needs, complex medical conditions and physical disabilities, including those with PEG feeding, epilepsy management, tracheostomy care or similar clinical requirements. A confident grasp of safeguarding, MCA, Gillick competence, restrictive practice and positive behaviour support frameworks. The leadership presence to set culture, manage difficult conversations and represent the service externally.
Why this role is worth a conversation
Dual-registered services of this kind are rare, and so are the leaders capable of running them well. You'll be backed by a provider that invests in clinical infrastructure, values quality over volume, and understands that a well-supported manager is the single biggest determinant of outcomes for the young people in their care.
Salary, package and provider details are shared in confidence at first conversation.
Please only apply if you have the right to live and work in the UK and are currently based in England.
We can only consider candidates who have current experience as Registered Managers of an Ofsted registered Children's Residential Service, qualified RNLD's who have worked with children and Registered Nurses with Complex Care experience and the skills and willingness to take on a Registered Manager's role.
We look forward to receiving your CV's and arranging interviews!
