M&A Corporate Finance Manager – Birmingham (Hybrid / Flexible) salary will be DOE ranging from £60,000 to £90,000 + excellent benefits

Alexander Daniels have been exclusively retained on this genuinely exciting opportunity to play a lead role in a high-growth, private equity-backed buy-and-build platform.

We are working with a dynamic, fast-scaling UK group backed by experienced private equity investors, on a mission to build a market-leading national platform through an ambitious and highly active acquisition strategy.

This is not a passive, advisory role. This is a front-line M&A execution position where you will be at the centre of identifying, shaping and delivering multiple transactions each year.

The group has already made significant progress on its journey, successfully acquiring and integrating a number of high-quality businesses, and is now entering the next phase of accelerated growth as it builds scale ahead of a clear medium-term value creation and exit plan.

Why this role is different

  • True ownership of deals, you will manage transactions end-to-end, from origination through to completion
  • Direct exposure to decision makers, working closely with the CEO and PE investors
  • High deal volume environment, multiple live transactions at any one time
  • Real commercial impact, your work will directly influence value creation and the future exit
  • Entrepreneurial culture, fast-paced, hands-on and outcome-focused

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to step out of a purely advisory environment and into a role where they can own outcomes, build relationships with business owners and deliver tangible results.

The role

You will play a critical role in executing a buy-and-build strategy focused on acquiring profitable, owner-managed businesses across the UK.

You will be responsible for:

Deal Origination & Pipeline Development

  • Building and managing a proactive acquisition pipeline
  • Identifying and engaging target businesses directly
  • Developing relationships with owner-managers and sector advisors
  • Leading initial conversations and assessing strategic fit

Target Evaluation

  • Conducting high-level commercial, financial and operational assessments
  • Analysing financial performance, growth potential and strategic fit
  • Preparing clear recommendations for investment decisions

Deal Structuring & Negotiation

  • Preparing offers and supporting valuation analysis
  • Working closely with the CEO on pricing and deal structure
  • Leading negotiations with business owners

End-to-End Transaction Execution

  • Managing the full deal lifecycle through to completion
  • Coordinating legal, financial and operational workstreams
  • Supporting and influencing due diligence processes
  • Driving pace and ensuring efficient deal completion

Post-Deal Support

  • Supporting handover into integration
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of the acquisition strategy

The journey for growth

  • This is a business with a clear and credible buy-and-build strategy, targeting profitable, regional businesses and scaling them into a national platform.
  • Backed by experienced private equity investors
  • Focused on rapid but disciplined acquisition growth
  • Clear pathway to value creation and future exit
  • Strong leadership team with a track record of delivery
  • You will be joining at a pivotal stage — where foundations are in place, but significant growth (and opportunity) lies ahead.

What we’re looking for

  • We are keen to speak with high-calibre M&A professionals who combine technical capability with genuine commercial instinct.
  • ACA / ACCA / ACMA qualified
  • Proven experience in M&A / Corporate Finance / Deal Advisory
  • Strong exposure to end-to-end transaction execution

Background in:

  • Corporate finance teams
  • Transaction services
  • Corporate development
  • Private equity-backed environments

Profile

  • Commercially minded and able to operate in the lower mid-market
  • Confident engaging directly with owner-managed businesses
  • Able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Strong communicator with credibility at senior level
  • Pragmatic, hands-on and delivery-focused

What success looks like

  • A consistently strong and active acquisition pipeline
  • Multiple high-quality deals completed efficiently
  • Strong relationships with target businesses and advisors
  • Meaningful contribution to the group’s growth and exit strategy

Why join

  • This is a rare opportunity to:
  • Take true ownership of M&A delivery in a growth environment
  • Work directly with a CEO and private equity investors
  • Play a visible role in a value creation and exit journey
  • Accelerate your career in a high-impact, fast-paced platform
