A well-known consumer brand in the personal care sector is looking for a Product Development Manager to join its Leeds-based team. This is an opportunity to lead the development of innovative products from concept through to launch within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
The Role
You will manage the full product development lifecycle, ensuring projects are commercially viable, delivered on time, and meet strict quality and regulatory standards. Working cross-functionally, you’ll play a key role in bringing new products to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new product opportunities and translate them into clear development briefs
- Build commercially sound business cases using market, consumer, and internal insights
- Lead multiple projects, managing timelines, budgets, and specifications
- Maintain accurate project plans and provide clear stakeholder updates
- Oversee product testing to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
- Prepare technical documentation to support regulatory requirements and approvals
- Manage supplier sourcing, onboarding, and cost negotiations
- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, and Packaging teams
About You
- Experience in product development within a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical devices, cosmetics, or similar)
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness, including understanding of P&L, margin, and cost structures
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and inform decisions
- Confident communicator, able to present technical and numerical information clearly
- Effective stakeholder manager with a collaborative approach
- Proactive problem-solver, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
