Job Title: SEN Teacher – Specialist Setting
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full Time / Part Time
Start Date: Immediate or September 2026
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist setting in Scarborough.
About the School
This specialist provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs including SEN, SEMH, ASC and communication difficulties. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment, with a strong emphasis on personalised learning, therapeutic approaches and consistent routines to support both academic and emotional development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with complex learning and behavioural needs
- Adapt teaching strategies to ensure engagement and progress
- Work closely with teaching assistants and SEN staff
- Monitor and assess pupil progress against individual targets
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working within SEN or specialist settings
- Strong understanding of SEMH, ASC and additional needs
- Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
