The Opportunity

We're supporting a major infrastructure programme and are looking for an experienced Door Locking Contract Engineering Lead to take ownership of a critical security and access control system.

This is a key role responsible for translating user requirements into system specifications, leading supplier engagement, and overseeing the full lifecycle of design delivery through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with end users to define requirements for door locking and key control systems
  • Develop system architecture and detailed specifications to support supplier tendering
  • Lead technical oversight and surveillance of supplier design delivery post‑award
  • Ensure delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and aligned to system requirements
  • Manage design changes, risks, open points, and validation processes
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to integrate systems into wider building designs
  • Oversee final handover of design to installation teams

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience with access control systems (keys, cards, biometrics, mobile access etc.)
  • Background in large‑scale engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience across specification, design, installation, and commissioning
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and drive delivery across complex environments
  • Strong technical documentation and reporting skills
  • Experience working within controlled design/configuration environments
  • Exposure to Assa Abloy systems is advantageous
