We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to become the first technical hire in our Belfast office. This is a unique opportunity to play a foundational role in shaping both the engineering culture and technical direction of a growing team.

About the Role

This is a full-stack position with a strong backend focus (approximately 80%). You’ll be working primarily with modern TypeScript and Node.js, building scalable, reliable systems in a cloud‑native environment. As an early hire, you’ll need to be comfortable working independently while also helping define best practices and processes as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js
  • Contribute to frontend development where needed, ensuring seamless full‑stack delivery
  • Architect and deploy cloud‑based solutions (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Take ownership of projects from concept through to production
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software
  • Help establish engineering standards, tooling, and workflows in a new office

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of software engineering experience (6–8 considered for exceptional candidates)
  • Strong, up‑to‑date experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Solid experience working with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Proven ability to work across the full stack, with a backend‑first mindset
  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking initiative
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a pragmatic approach to development
